About us

Welcome to The Yahara River Chorus website. We are an auditioned, women’s barbershop chorus representing the greater Madison and southwestern Wisconsin area. Our membership covers a wide range of ages, professions, hobbies and previous musical training. What brings us together is the love of singing a cappella harmony. What keeps us together is the excitement and the satisfaction of striving to become the best singers we can be; and the strong bonds of friendship that develop in the process. Performing in the community is important to us, whether it’s singing for local organizations or staging our popular annual show. We also compete every spring at our regional Sweet Adelines competition and in 2013, earned the right to compete at the Sweet Adelines International competition in Hawaii.
